At last

We’ve finally arrived. And it’s just the two of us. It took a toy propeller plane to get us here (Tami, you would have freaked) but we are finally in Santorini. It may be the most beautiful place I have ever seen.

And this is where I put the blog down. It’s me, the love of my life, and the island.

The view from our front door.

See you next week!

Istanbul, not Constantinople

One day could never be enough in Istanbul, but boy… was it grand. Today may have just been the best one yet.

We visited the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, ate Turkish food and pastries, and of course…saw Hagia Sophia. Then we broke away from the group, to experience the Istanbul Spice Market, in rush hour. It was truly amazing, and I couldn’t think of a better place to take in the culture.

I wish I could post all of our pictures now, but this one from inside Hagia Sophia will have to do.

I heart Istanbul.

Acts 16

Well today we have truly walked in Paul’s steps. It was easy to be in awe, as we walked around the ruins of Philipi, the first place Paul landed in Europe.

Just to walk on the very pavestones where he walked, was an amazing experience. As if that wasn’t enough, we saw where he was imprisoned and also where the first Christian was baptized in Europe. If you truly want to know exactly what we experienced today, read Acts 16. We read it aloud standing here…

“Overwhelming” doesn’t even cover it.

Today we sail for Istanbul!
